Giving this motif is a way of sharing a connection to this ritual art.

Our interpretation

The motif is brought from Senufo art to this piece through the faceted eggplant and black elephant on the cup, and the ring of woven bands on the saucer. Our concept for the silhouettes consists of embedding a wax fabric from our collection into the shadow of an animal: here, the elephant becomes a figurative silhouette, and you can choose another animal, an astrological sign, or a different animal for each member of the family. This cup and saucer are decorated to order in our Alfortville workshop, with the motif prepared, applied, and glazed by hand before firing.

At your table

At coffee time, on a matte tablecloth or a light wood table, the light brings out the faceted eggplant and black tones of the elephant.
