### **The History of the Ndop Pattern**
**Ndop** is a traditional and ritual fabric of the Bamiléké people of Cameroon. It is distinguished by its white geometric patterns on an indigo blue background, which carry strong cultural symbolism. Originally, Ndop was used in royal and ritual ceremonies, and even served as currency between peoples.
Its manufacture follows a meticulous process: cotton is spun and woven into narrow strips, then decorated with symbolic motifs sewn with raffia thread before being dyed with indigo. Each motif represents values such as peace, fertility, or political power, and some models were reserved exclusively for chiefs and dignitaries.
Today, the Ndop motif is revisited in fashion and decoration, bringing a touch of authenticity and prestige to everyday objects.
