A gallery of African masks, each bearing a story.

On each square plate, a different mask from West Africa stands out in the center: serene faces, horned masks, helmet masks, drawn in black, grey and sepia with a few touches of rust; white completes the palette. A gallery of portraits takes place at the table. This set is our tribute to the iconic "Masks and Traditions" mask.

From portrait masks to helmet masks, Africa has invented a thousand faces. Our drawings are inspired by authentic representations kept in museums, coming from all the countries of the continent: hundreds of models among which everyone chooses their own.

✨ What the motif tells

A gallery of African masks, each bearing a story: you choose the one that touches you or resembles you. To connect the living, the ancestors and the spirits, this is the role of masks in many cultures of Africa. To give to someone who will recognize themselves in one face rather than another.

Our reinterpretation

Here, the mask becomes a portrait placed in the center of the square plate, repeated from one piece to another with different faces. The palette of black, grey, sepia, rust and white gives the whole a graphic presence on the porcelain. These plates are decorated to order in our workshop in Alfortville, motif prepared, placed and glazed by hand before firing. They are presented in 2 boxes of 31 × 31 × 10 cm.

At your table

In the soft light of the end of the day, on a matte tablecloth or a wooden table, the black, grey, sepia and rust faces respond to each other among the guests. To give to a person who likes to choose the story that resembles them, or to share a meal where each plate opens a conversation.

• In case of breakage: replacement by the unit possible, same motif and same dimensions, as long as the shape remains in the catalog.
• In the same motif: wine or champagne glass.
