Set of 6 oval plates, Pomme de discorde wax print

A mischievous name for the little quarrels that are forgotten around a good table.

On each oval plate, a ring of long royal blue and olive green leaves, striped like feathers, runs along the edge; at the bottom of the deep dishes, a pair of parakeets stand side by side. The palette combines royal blue, olive green, yellow, red, and white. A tribute to the iconic "Apple of Discord" fabric with this set of 6 oval plates.

🦜 One pattern, a thousand names

In the world of wax, the same design can receive several names. It is the market women and those who wear the fabrics who give them their names.

• Apple of Discord (Ivory Coast)
• Papayas (Ghana)

✨ What the pattern tells

The name is mischievous and speaks of the little quarrels that are eventually forgotten around a good table. It is a pattern to give for a meal where little quarrels are voiced and then forgotten around the table.

Our reinterpretation

On the oval plate, the ring of long royal blue and olive green leaves runs along the edge; on the deep dishes, the pair of parakeets sits at the bottom. The palette combines yellow, red, and white with this wax design, in a version adapted to porcelain. Each piece is decorated to order in our workshop in Alfortville, pattern prepared, applied and glazed by hand before firing. The packaging box is designed to accompany the set.

At your table

In the soft light of a lunch or dinner, a linen tablecloth, simple glasses and guests who take the time to remake the world: the ring of leaves makes eyes turn around the table. For a gift, give this set to someone with whom we love to laugh at little quarrels and forget them around a meal.
