Set of 6 round plates, Wedding Flowers wax print, lavender blue and royal blue colors

In West Africa, this floral fabric is given to newlyweds: it symbolizes happiness.

On these round plates, a wide ring of sun-yellow and orange flowers with striped petals unfolds on a lavender-blue and royal-blue background and frames a white center. Here we present our tribute to the iconic "Fleurs de Mariage" fabric, a pattern that brings the party to the table.

🌺 One pattern, a thousand names

Designed in the late 1970s, this bouquet of hibiscus flowers with finely striped petals became one of the most beloved, and most copied, wax fabrics. In the world of wax, it is the market women and those who wear the fabrics who give them their names.

• Fleurs de Mariage (French-speaking West Africa): the fabric given to newlyweds.
• Hibiscus (West Africa, in French): a neighboring pattern, worn by the bride's single friends, who humorously display that they are also looking for a suitor.

✨ What the pattern tells

This pattern carries the happiness of the couple and the promise of a happy home. It is a party fabric, given as a gift and worn around a wedding.

Our reinterpretation

The wide floral ring rests on the edge of the plates, allowing the white center to breathe; the sun-yellow and orange of the flowers respond to the lavender-blue and royal-blue of the background. The plates are decorated to order in our Alfortville workshop, the pattern prepared, applied and glazed by hand before firing, and presented in a 31 × 31 × 10 cm packaging box.

At your table

In the soft light of a festive lunch, on a light tablecloth or a wooden table, these plates accompany the moments spent with loved ones. As a wedding gift or a special treat for two, they carry the promise of a happy home.
