On the plate, a large orange flower stands out against a veil of very pale lavender petals; around the mug and inside the large speckled bowl, orange and sun-yellow flowers bloom against a royal blue background. The white of the porcelain lets these blues and oranges breathe. This set is our tribute to the iconic "Fleurs de Mariage" fabric.

🌺 One pattern, a thousand names

Designed in the late 1970s, this bouquet of finely veined hibiscus petals became one of the most beloved wax fabrics, and one of the most copied. In the world of wax, the market women and those who wear the fabrics give the patterns their names.

• Fleurs de Mariage (French-speaking West Africa, French): the fabric given to newlyweds.
• Hibiscus (West Africa, French): a neighboring pattern, worn by the bride's single friends, who humorously show that they are also looking for a suitor.

The pattern tells the happiness of the couple and the promise of a happy home. It is a festive fabric, given and worn around a wedding.

Our reinterpretation

The bouquet unfolds according to the shapes: a large orange flower on the plate, an interior band and a medallion in the speckled bowl, an exterior band around the mug. The palette combines royal blue, lavender blue, orange, sun-yellow, and white. Each piece is decorated to order in our Alfortville workshop: pattern prepared, placed and glazed by hand before firing.
