Designed in the late 1970s, this bouquet of hibiscus flowers with finely striated petals became one of the most beloved, and most copied, wax fabrics. In the world of wax fabric, it is the market women and those who wear the fabrics who give their names to the patterns.

• Fleurs de Mariage (French-speaking West Africa, in French): the fabric given to engaged couples.
• Hibiscus (West Africa, in French): a similar pattern, worn by the bride's single friends, who humorously display on it that they are also looking for a suitor.

Our reinterpretation

The wide horizontal band allows the sun-yellow, blue-grey and orange flowers to unfold, underlined with fine teal lines. The whole is decorated to order in our Alfortville workshop: pattern prepared, applied and enameled by hand before firing. It is presented in 2 boxes of 31 × 31 × 10 cm.
