Designed in the late 1970s, this bouquet of hibiscus flowers with finely striped petals became one of the most beloved wax fabrics, and one of the most copied. In the world of wax fabric, it is the market women and those who wear the fabrics who give the patterns their names.

• Marriage Flowers (French-speaking West Africa): the fabric given to engaged couples.
• Hibiscus (West Africa, in French): a similar pattern, worn by the bride's single friends, who humorously show that they are also looking for a suitor.

The pattern combines the happiness of the couple and the promise of a happy home. It is a festive fabric, given and worn around a wedding.

Our reinterpretation

The bouquet becomes a wide floral band around the mug, with the colors on the product sheet: raspberry red, pink, sunshine yellow, anise green, and white. Each mug is decorated to order in our workshop in Alfortville, with the pattern prepared, applied, and glazed by hand before firing.
