Square salad bowl, Wedding Flowers wax print, lavender blue and sunshine yellow, band

In West Africa, this floral fabric is given to newlyweds: it symbolizes happiness.

A wide band of sun-yellow and orange flowers on a lavender-blue background crosses the square salad bowl from one side to the other; the rest of the porcelain remains white. This square salad bowl is our tribute to the iconic "Fleurs de Mariage" fabric.

🌺 One pattern, a thousand names

Designed in the late 1970s, this bouquet of hibiscus with finely veined petals became one of the most beloved wax fabrics, and one of the most copied. In the world of wax, it is the market women and those who wear the fabrics who give their names to the patterns.

• Fleurs de Mariage (French-speaking West Africa): the fabric given to newlyweds.
• Hibiscus (West Africa): a neighboring pattern, worn by the bride's single friends, who humorously display on it that they are also looking for a suitor.

✨ What the pattern tells

The Fleurs de Mariage pattern evokes the happiness of the couple and the promise of a happy home. It is a festive fabric, given and worn around a wedding. It is willingly given to surround the newlyweds.

Our reinterpretation

The wide band of sun-yellow and orange flowers, set on a lavender-blue background, crosses the square salad bowl from one side to the other and leaves the rest of the porcelain white. The salad bowl is decorated to order in our workshop in Alfortville: pattern prepared, then applied and glazed by hand before firing. It is presented in a gift box.

At your table

For a lunch bathed in soft light, on a white tablecloth or a natural material, the square salad bowl brings its sun-yellow and orange flowers on a lavender-blue background to the table. Given around a wedding, it accompanies the wish for a happy home.
