The flared teacup is entirely covered in sun-yellow and orange flowers on a lavender-blue background; the saucer features a wide band of the same design on white. This teacup and saucer are our tribute to the iconic "Fleurs de Mariage" fabric.

🌺 One pattern, a thousand names

Designed in the late 1970s, this bouquet of hibiscus flowers with finely veined petals became one of the most beloved wax fabrics, and one of the most copied. In the world of wax fabric, it is the market women and those who wear the fabrics who give the patterns their names.

• Fleurs de Mariage (French-speaking West Africa): the fabric given to newlyweds.
• Hibiscus (West Africa): a similar pattern, worn by the bride's single friends, who humorously show that they are also looking for a suitor.

✨ What the pattern tells

The Fleurs de Mariage pattern evokes the happiness of the couple and the promise of a happy home. It is a festive fabric, given as a gift and worn around a wedding.

Our reinterpretation

On the cup, the bouquet covers the entire surface; on the saucer, it forms a wide band. Sun-yellow, orange, lavender-blue, and white make up this porcelain version. This cup and saucer are decorated to order in our Alfortville workshop: the pattern is prepared, applied, and glazed by hand before firing.

On a light linen tablecloth, in the soft morning light, the cup and saucer find their place among the guests. Given as gifts for a wedding or engagement, they carry a wish of happiness for the couple.
